Moments after the Federal Reserve announced that “risks to the US economy have increased” the Dow Jones industrial average continued it’s downward slide.
At one moment today the Dow Jones was as low as 10627, a loss of almost 200 basis points.
Stocks have been lower in other parts of the world as well with the Nikkei 225 down more than 150 basis points. Indexes in China and Korea also took losses, giving weight to the prospect of a global economic slowdown.
This, after two day’s of record volatility, is giving a glimpse into the precarious nature of economic stability in the United States & around the world.
